Manuscript Summaries
When you browse manuscripts by shelfmark, date of origin, and so on, you will see a thumbnail, a headline containing basic manuscript information, and a manuscript summary. Manuscript summaries have been written for e-codices by numerous manuscript scholars and researchers affiliated with various participant institutions (see list below). They are generally 20-100 words in length and indicate important content and characteristics of the manuscript; in some cases they contain new information not found (or not yet included) in the corresponding scholarly descriptions used on this site. All manuscript summaries have been translated by e-codices from the various languages in which they were originally written into the four languages used on the site.
Each manuscript summary is followed by the personal initials of its author. To date, the following individuals have written manuscript summaries for e-codices:
