Iuvenalis, Decimus Iunius (ca. 65 - ca. 128)
This manuscript is part of a substantial Carolingian composite manuscript, the surviving parts of which today are held in the Burgerbibliothek Bern (Cod. 330, 347, 357), the Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris (Ms. Lat. 7665), and in the Universitätsbibliothek Leiden (Voss. Lat. Q 30). Cod. 357 contains: on ff. 1–32, the second to last part of the volume with various glossaries and excerpts from Sallust; on ff. 33–41, the rest of Nonius Marcellus (continuation from Cod. 347), the oldest surviving textual witness of Petronius' Satyricon, as well as a fragment of a poem about weights and measures.

A single leaf of a manuscript of Juvenal's Satires from the library of Fleury. Other parts of this manuscript can be found in Orléans, BM 295; cf. Vatican, BAV Reg. lat. 980, f. 42, and Leiden, Voss lat. F12. This fragment came to Bern in 1632 as part of the bequest of Jacques Bongars.

Composite manuscript consisting of four very different parts that probably came to Bern in 1632 as part of the property of Jacques Bongars; parts B and C are from the Collège de Navarre in Paris. All parts are at least partly illuminated. Contains Juvenal's Satires (I-XVI) with glosses which are probably from the commentary by Pseudo-Cornutus. Glued onto both inside covers are fragments from a 14th-century manuscript written in Dutch which contain part of the poetic work Martijn by Jacob van Maerlant, one of the greatest Flemish poets of the Middle Ages.

Commentary notes (most of them explanations written for use in teaching) about the 16 Satires of the Roman poet Juvenal (about 60-140), preceded by 460 verses in hexameter (most of them from the Satires) and a mixed glossary from the Satires of Juvenal. The St. Gall copy was made in the second half of the 9th century.

This manuscript contains all 16 satires by the ancient poet Juvenal, in the order 1-14, 16, and 15. Satires 1-3 and 10-14 are glossed (among them 7 Old High German glosses); for satires 3 and 14 only the beginning is glossed, for satire 10 only the end, which is probably due to the fact that these glosses were added to the respective quires before the manuscript was bound.
