Manuscript Summary:
Manuscript Summary
The explicit and the title written on the spine of this manuscript read: Postilla Bernensis super evangelia. As Scherrer had already noted, “Parmensis” should be read. Indeed, the author of the sermons copied in this manuscript is the Dominican Fra Antonio Azaro Parmensis. These sermons are grouped into two parts: the Postillae super evangelia de tempore (pp. 15-98) and the Sermones quadragesimales (pp. 99-355). This manuscript bears the stamp of the library of Prince-abbot Diethelm Blarer between 1553 and 1564 (p. 356). The binding covered in red leather dates from the fourteenth or fifteenth century. (rou)
